Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz fills with art for a week. This year's theme is Smouldering, the slow burn that stays alive after something has erupted. At its centre is History Otherwise at Concrete, a show of women modernists from the Arab world, drawn from the Barjeel Art Foundation collection.

The week unfolds in three beats: the Concrete opening and a talks afternoon on Sunday 15, nine galleries opening new shows on Monday 16, and a closing weekend of film screenings, slow art walks and children's gallery tours on 21 and 22. Entry to the Avenue costs nothing, and the galleries are walk-in during their own opening hours.

Alserkal does not yet publish times for the talks, screenings or walks. This page will be updated when they appear.

Hours and prices change. Check with the venue before you go.
