Dubai edition

This weekend: Fri 30 Oct to Sun 1 Nov

Where to go out in Dubai.
Checked before we post.

What's On

Thursday night, two ways.

A record bar with a serious sound system, or an Austen film with a conversation after it. Both start at 7:30pm on Thursday 29 October.

Two placesChecked 29 October 2026Prices in AED

Two very different Thursdays, starting at the same hour. One is a listening bar in Downtown with a Dubai DJ on the decks and a Japanese kitchen beside the booth. The other is a new film adaptation of Sense and Sensibility in Alserkal Avenue, with the room invited to stay and talk about it afterwards.

The bar takes bookings by phone and holds a strict cancellation fee. The cinema seats are unreserved, so arrive early for a good one. Both were rechecked on Thursday afternoon.

Hours and prices change. Check with the venue before you go.

Afrohouse with Somalie

Honeycomb Hi-Fi

A record bar built around an Ojas sound system, with Matt Abergel's izakaya-style kitchen alongside. Thursday's Weekly Sounds night is Somalie, a Dubai DJ, producer and musician, playing Afrohouse.

If neither suits

Boris Grebenshchikov makes his Dubai debut at The Agenda in Dubai Media City on the same night. Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm. Standing tickets are AED 250 and seats run from AED 600 to AED 1,000, fees included, all on Ticket Fairy.

Doing both

The screening runs to about 10pm and the bar stays open to 2am, so a film in Al Quoz and a late table at Honeycomb fit in one night. Book the bar for after 10pm, which also means over-21s only.
